उत्तर प्रदेश में ग्रामीण महिलाओं के लिए रोजगार के अवसर सिर्फ आचार-पापड़ बनाने तक ही सीमित नहीं रहे हैं। अब वे घरों से बिजली के बिल इकट्ठा कर उन्हें जमा कराती हैं, रेस्तरां चलाती हैं, अगरबत्ती बनाती हैं और सैनिटरी पैड की सिलाई भी कर रही हैं। स्वयं सहायता समूह की इन महिलाओं को उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन के जरिए प्रशिक्षण दिया जा रहा है।
