दक्षिण कश्मीर में हर कोई दूसरे कामों से फुर्सत निकाल कर पंजथ नाग से कीचड़ और खरपतवार निकालने के लिए इकट्ठा होता है। ये रस्म सदियों से चली आ रही है। माना जाता है पंजथ गाँव से डेढ़ किलोमीटर के दायरे में 500 झरने हैं जहाँ यह सालाना उत्सव मनाया जाता है।
